Summit Run 2010

The 6th Annual Summit Run was held June 20th, 2010. It was a great day. We had 485 people register for the run! The temperature was great, the participants were amazing, the sponsorship was huge, the volunteers motivating and the water, booster juices & massages at the end, pure delight.

Results of the race are now posted! We are also busy calculating the "Beat Your Time" and will post this mid week.

SOCKS! - Running socks will be for sale at Summit Physio and Fitness during regular work hours, or at registration pick up on Saturday June 19th or on race day. Costs of the socks are $12.00 and all proceeds will go to Crime Stoppers. More Information

The Summit Run is proud to tell you we are continuing with the Beat Your Previous Time for the 2010 Race!! For those runners who ran any of the previous 4 years, and their 2010 times beat their previous times - your name will be entered into a draw.

We will be having 3 draws, for each event :

the 5km, 10km and 1/2 marathon

How It All Started

In 2005, a group of runners wanted to create an event that would promote fitness, unite the community and put Prince Albert on the map for having one of the greatest runs.

In the first year, 150 runners signed up and the Summit Run for Fitness raised $3,000 which was donated to the Prince Albert Rotary Trail. That trail is now used as the event’s running path, which shows off the beautiful riverbank along the North Saskatchewan River.

In 2007, the event hosted 208 runners, some from as far away as Ontario. Partnering with Prince Albert Crime Stoppers, the run raised an outstanding $8,600, ($7300 in 2007) which was donated to Crime Stoppers. The partnership worked so great that Crime Stoppers is coming on board again this year and will receive the proceeds.

In 2008, the run hosted 222 runners and raised $8500. Thank you to all runners, volunteers and sponsors for your continued support. We look forward to a great 2009 event!
